Our Mission
Social media promised to connect us. Instead, it turned us into products—tracking our every move, building profiles to sell to advertisers, and creating environments where authenticity is punished and performance is rewarded.
Kloak exists because we believe there's a better way. A way to share and connect without sacrificing your privacy. A way to express yourself without your real-world identity being attached to every thought.
We're building the social platform we wish existed: private by design, safe by default, and focused on authentic human expression rather than engagement metrics.
What We Believe
Privacy is a right, not a feature
Privacy isn't something you should have to pay for or opt into. It's the default. We collect only what's necessary to run the platform—nothing more. We don't build profiles, track behavior, or sell data.
Anonymity and safety can coexist
Critics say anonymous platforms become toxic. We disagree. With the right moderation systems, anonymous spaces can be safer than identity-based ones—free from the social pressure and judgment that often silences authentic voices.
Moderation should be transparent
We believe you deserve to know how content decisions are made. Our policies are clear, our enforcement is consistent, and we're committed to publishing transparency reports about how we moderate the platform.
Technology should serve people
Not the other way around. We're not optimizing for time-on-app or engagement metrics. We're building tools that let you share what matters to you, when you want to, without manipulation or dark patterns.
Why Anonymity?
Identity-based social media has a problem: people perform instead of express. When your real name and face are attached to every post, you self-censor. You worry about what your employer, family, or future self will think.
Anonymity removes that barrier. It lets you share thoughts you'd never say out loud, ask questions you're afraid to ask, and connect with others who understand without judgment.
Of course, anonymity can be abused. That's why we've invested heavily in moderation—not to surveil users, but to maintain a community where authentic expression doesn't come at the cost of safety.
What We're Building
Kloak is launching on iOS first, with Android coming soon. We're starting with the fundamentals: photo and text posts, hashtag discovery, push notifications, and a clean, fast experience.
We're building carefully and intentionally. Every feature is evaluated not just for usefulness, but for its privacy implications. We'd rather ship fewer features that respect your privacy than more features that compromise it.
